Working At Wool Landon

Estate and disability planning firms need skilled lawyers who can serve the next generation. Young lawyers need the skills and network to accommodate the mobile American family. We believe in the art of teaching newer lawyers to write, explain, and assist with estate planning documents. We provide a platform for our attorneys to work like their peers in other professional industries. This includes the option of working virtually from home or in a remote location. This flexible approach allows our attorneys to establish long-term relationships with their clients.

Wool Landon® is an inclusive and energized boutique law firm that provides opportunities for professional growth and development, teamwork, and remote work flexibility options.

At Wool Landon, good benefits, reasonable paid time off, hours and billing expectations, and a respectful and supportive team create exceptional opportunities for our staff and attorneys.

We believe our clients and employees deserve respect no matter their gender, ethnicity, race, age, or sexual orientation.

“After many years in the legal sector, I can say working at Wool Landon is the most rewarding and supportive position I have held.”

Washington Lead Litigation Attorney

Wool Landon® needs experienced first chair level Oregon and Washington litigators to support our high net-worth clients and families with probate and trust related disputes. Headquartered in Tigard, Oregon, we are reaching deeper into the state of Washington this year for a senior level attorney or attorneys with a portable book of complimentary business already established in the state of Washington.   If you are looking for a new law firm or are considering breaking away from a firm to increase your agency over your cases and clients, consider Wool Landon.  We have purpose, flexibility and a robust established infrastructure.

Our Clients

Our clients represent every stage of wealth, from young adults with an emerging estate to established families with high net worth and diverse backgrounds. According to a recent 2024 Forbes article, “… $90 trillion in assets will be transferred between generations in the United States over the next 20 years. This shift will make Millennials … the wealthiest generation in American history.” This transfer of wealth includes not only financial assets but real estate, businesses, and existing trust funds. It also opens the door for disputes concerning who is the rightful heir to those assets.

Wool Landon® is a boutique firm with a unique approach to private client estate planning, drafting and refining all manner of wills and trusts, from “emerging estate plans” for young people to tax driven planning for high-net-worth clients.  We also do trusts and probate administration, and related litigation. Mediocre estate planning documents lead to litigation or expensive mediated settlements. They are often accompanied by vulnerable persons abuse claims, and, unfortunately, sometimes attorney and residential care malpractice claims. Wool Landon® specializes in customized, complicated plans, probate and trust administration, and associated litigation that arises from old, stale documents, do-it-yourself documents and probate avoidance, and opportunities for related elder financial abuse.

Our Candidate

Our new litigator has established business in the state of Washington in Clark County, Spokane, Tri-Cities, or the Puget Sound area, has business development skills and a portable book of business. They have solid technical skills and excellent attention to detail with the ability to connect with people and develop client relationships. This is a full-time lead attorney position where you will manage cases, supervise your team and take the lead in court. Our litigator already has great litigation skills and wants to commit to increasing their book of business to include our practice areas.   They love working directly with individual clients and rewarding trial opportunities.

Our Culture

We take care of families for a living, and we value your time with yours by maintaining reasonable billable hour goals and remote work flexibility. You will work on our multi-state platform with our paralegals, legal assistants and lawyers, including founder Abby Wool Landon, an attorney with nearly 30 years of experience assisting families with their estate planning, estate administration and wealth preservation needs. You will have access to the firm virtually if you are outside of Oregon and will be influential in helping us select our first Washington based brick and mortar site.

Our Commitment

Wool Landon® is focused on high quality teamwork, and the ability for each employee to live life to the fullest. We develop talent and encourage business development for attorneys and staff alike. Our lead office sits in the ‘Tigard Triangle’ where you can park your car or bicycle, walk to a coffee shop, sit outside on our private grounds, and still have close access to the freeway. Wool Landon® offers a competitive salary structure with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match for eligible participants, and more. You will be provided with the needed administrative support so that you can focus on what you do best: practicing law.
