Abby Landon was recently interviewed by KATU news anchor Wright Gazaway for a KATU Investigates story involving a Klamath Falls, Oregon probate with an alleged forged will, missing funds, and an illegal estate sale. Gazaway reports, “A judge froze the estate in late August and then threw out the 2022 will and removed the executor in early September – almost five months after the invalid will was filed with the court.”
In a world where the vulnerable and elderly are targets, financial fraud and abuse emerge as a haunting and all too common reality. These abuses frequently emerge during the probate or trust administration process.
Estate disputes arise when there are questions about the decedent’s competence or potential undue influence by another party, disputes between guardians, conservators, and agents under powers of attorney, and even disputes amongst family members. If you suspect dishonest or criminal activity may be occurring, seek experienced legal counsel as quickly as possible.
