Wool Landon has an immediate opening for a paralegal candidate to support the administration and litigation practices at Wool Landon. This is a great opportunity for a legal assistant or junior paralegal who is hoping to advance in their career. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of combined experience as a legal assistant or paralegal supporting lawyers with civil litigation, trust and probate estate administration, guardianships and conservatorships. You must demonstrate knowledge of both probate and civil litigation processes. You will provide case support, including document/information management, factual research, discovery management, court hearings and trial support. You will also prepare pleadings and accountings for probate court, and be able take the lead in probate estate administration. The right candidate has up-to-date, above average skill with Microsoft Business Suite Premium programs Excel, Outlook and Word, as well as Adobe Acrobat. It would be helpful if you are also comfortable in a paperless law firm environment, and have some familiarity with Gillette Estate Management Suite (GEM’s), QuickBooks, Intuit for Professional Tax preparers and Sharepoint.

Estate Planning Attorney
You must be licensed in at least one of Oregon, Washington, Arizona or California, and eligible to take another bar exam or to be admitted by reciprocity to the bar in Oregon or Washington. This candidate has several years related experience and at least a small portable personal book of business. You will work on our multi-state platform with our paralegals, team assistants and lawyers, and also with the firm founder, an attorney with nearly 30 years of experience assisting families with their estate planning, estate administration and wealth preservation needs. Our clients represent every stage of wealth, from young adults with an emerging estate to older couples with high net worth, all from diverse backgrounds. The right candidate must combine technical skills and excellent attention to detail with the ability to connect with people and develop client relationships. Some experience with preparing gift and estate tax returns and a tax degree such as an LLM or Master of Laws preferred but not required. The right candidate is comfortable working independently but is also willing to learn from and adopt some of our uniform methods in their planning practice.
